A website visitor should never get confused. When designing the site architecture, KNXU Communications carefully considers the ease, logic and consistency of the inter-page navigation. Multiple internal links (such as the buttons on the top of this page, and the corresponding text links at the bottom) allow a variety of paths to reach a particular destination on the site. This is useful for a high-volume content website with a large number of page files (multiple internal links are also helpful in Search Engine Optimization). Links to internal webpages and external websites are placed allowing easy access to a wide range of information with a minimum of “clicks”. Links to external websites allow the visitor to easily return to the original website. The web visitor will not get lost.
- navigation can be horizontal across the page, or vertical on a side margin
- sub-topic items can be retrieved via drop downs, sidebars
- dynamic web-user interaction, such as 'buttons' that change when the mouse hovers over them or when they are activated
